TVC Road Races are casual practice races held every week from April through August. Check out the Calendar to see when and where the next one is. Safety comes first, so we prioritize avoiding traffic and rider contact over winning, but our courses are on generally empty roads that let some serious racing take place. There are full-gas attacks, splits, breakaways and sprints. You can race with the “A”s, which is about like a strong 3/4 race, or “B”s, which is more like a Cat 5/Citizens race.
Most people show up about 20-40min before race start, in order to get changed, pump up their tires, and warm-up. We try to roll out right at 6pm (April) or 6:30pm (May-Aug).
Basic Ride Recommendations:
Most races have beautiful rural scenery. These are routes through a country setting, as such you should be prepared with water, food and a repair kit. Everyone must wear a helmet, and be a TVC Member! Other TVC members will look out for you. If you don’t sign out after the race, we will come look for you. This may take some time, make sure you have a spare tube, pump and multi-tool to get home on your own. It’s important to learn about your bike and be self-sufficient.
